A great evening was held for Burns Night. Many members assembled, some in full evening Scottish tartan to celebrate (a few days early admittedly) the birthday of Rabbie Burns.
The haggis was carried in proudly by our master chef Carl, who presented it to one of our members, Colin Campbell, resplendent in his clan tartan, who toasted it in Rabbie Burns’ famous words. Then he and Carl raised a wee dram to it, and Colin pierced it with his dagger.
Colin toasted the lassies, a subject close to Rabbie Burns’ heart, as when he died at 37 he left 13 children by 4 women! Annabell Campbell responded brilliantly on behalf of the lassies, and then we all tucked in…
