The highlight of The New Club summer season took place at the Cheltenham Cricket Festival on the warm, beautiful, sunny evening of August the 19th.It could not have been better. The Dom Franks saxophone jazz trio were playing on the lawn, champagne flowed and greatly enjoyed by the sixty or so members and their guests as they greeted old friends and met new ones. After one and a half hours of brilliant jazz, champagne and great conversations, the guests were treated to a superb dinner of Chilled melon and Ginger soup; half a dressed Cornish lobster, with micro herb salad leaves; lemon and homemade mayonnaise; parsley and dill buttered new potatoes followed by Double Chocolate Delice with mint and raspberry coulis. Finally, even a cheese board was served.
As darkness fell, many members said it was one of the best events they had ever attended at The New Club, Cheltenham. Hopefully the images below tell the whole story ……
